COMMUNICATION
During the program, a weekly newsletter will be distributed via the mailbox located at the top of the hill.  Please check the box on a regular basis in order to stay informed about upcoming events.  In addition, a weekly email will be sent out to all parents from the Program Director.  Pleon also maintains this website: www.pleon.org.  Please visit the site for information throughout the summer.

REFUNDS AND DISCOUNTS
Fees will not be prorated for partial attendance, or for cancellations after the registration deadline.  Pleon does not offer a discount for families with multiple children in the program, and cannot accommodate requests for refunds.

SWIM TEST
On the first day of class, all sailors will be required to take a swim test in the harbor.  All participants in the program will swim in a swimsuit for 50 yards and tread water for one minute.  Remember to bring a towel and warm clothes to the first class.

LIFE JACKETS
Safety is of primary importance.  Every child, regardless of age or class, is required to own and wear a Coast Guard-approved life vest at all times when on the dock and water.  This rule also applies to free sailing at Pleon and to participants at away events.

PRIVATE BOATS
Due to space limitations for private boats at Pleon, the more experienced classes will be given priority for boat storage.

LOCKERS
Locker assignments will be made in June.  Please include a separate payment with your application.  Locker space is extremely limited and in most cases lockers are shared.  Priority will be given to private boat owners and members of the racing teams.  There is no guarantee of locker availability.

CONDUCT AND DISCIPLINE
Proper conduct is simple common sense.  There should be no rough play on the dock or on Pleon grounds.  Jumping off piers is absolutely forbidden.  Respect for fellow members and boats is essential.  When juniors are sailing at away events, they are representing Pleon, and poor sportsmanship will not be tolerated.  Sailors and their families will be held accountable for lost or damaged equipment if it is deemed by staff to be reasonably preventable given the sailor's ability level.  If discipline is necessary, the Director reserves the right to require a student to leave the program for a certain period of time.  The student's parents will be notified immediately.  Please refer to the Parent Agreement.
