Pleon COVID-19/Summer Update
April 27, 2020
Hello Pleon families,
We hope you are staying well in this unusual and unsettling time. We understand there are likely many questions around how summer will look within the parameters of our new 'normal' and when we can get together to go sailing. Here at Pleon, we've been keeping up-to-date with the latest guidelines, while also brainstorming ways to adapt the program to comply with potential restrictions. We hope to learn more in the coming weeks. Overall, it is our objective to maximize the ability and opportunity for Pleon sailors to get on the water this summer within the health and safety regulations provided.
Per the latest guidelines from Governor Baker's office, Pleon will not open earlier than June 29, 2020. This is a 1 week delay to our original start date. Based on a June 29th start date and assuming we can operate semi-normally, we hope to adjust the seasonal schedule as follows:
- Full Program: June 29 - August 19
- First Session: June 29 - July 17
- Second Session: July 27 - August 19
- Intro to Pleon, Session 1: June 29 - July 10
- Intro to Pleon, Session 2: August 3 - August 14
Please note that we are evaluating potential adjustments to the class schedules to account for the delayed opening.
We will provide a more detailed operating plan as soon as we have additional guidance from the relevant authorities. In the meantime, please understand that our program structure and schedule are subject to change. Absolutely everything that we do will be based upon the best practices recommended by State, Federal, and international health authorities. We are trying to be flexible, creative, and as safe as possible so that we can all get back on the water soon.
