Dear Pleon Parents and Sailors,
Finally some nice breeze and weather! Let's hope this holds
through the holiday weekend. I just wanted to write a quick note about Movie
Night, Free Sail and a reminder about the 4th of July.
- I've been hearing a lot about Movie Night last
night. It seems the kids had fun but there were a couple of issues throughout
the evening. Movie Night is run and supervised by Pleon's Junior Instructors
who do their best to make it fun for all. We ask that when kids are dropped off
for Movie Night that they stay in the
club - no passing the mommy gate and no one on the docks or beach. Last
night the Junior Instructors reported that many kids would not listen and kept
running away. If you could just help us
in our effort to keep everyone present and accounted for by reminding your
sailors of this rule we would greatly appreciate it. Eastern Yacht Club was
also displeased by the large quantities of kids that were coming up to get free
lollipops at the front desk and popcorn on the porch. I know that many of you
are members but there are equally as many who are not. If you could remind your
kids that going up to the Eastern
during Movie Night is not allowed for ANYONE, member or not. Hopefully
by the next Movie Night, all of these issues will have been ironed out! Thank
you for your help with this.
- Free Sail was a lot of fun this weekend! All in
all everything went well. Just a few points about free sail. Sonars
are not available to use. Trapeze
and spinnakers should only be used by sailors who have been taught to use them
or are being assisted by a Junior Instructor. Improper use of this
equipment is unsafe and spinnakers are torn easily if misused.
- THERE ARE
NO CLASSES TOMORROW FOR JULY 4TH however class WILL be held on
Friday the 5th.
- Lastly, our 420 coach Bianca lost her red
trapeze harness and it says her name (Bianca Rom) in it. If you have seen it
PLEASE let me know, she would like it back.
We hope everyone has a fantastic 4th
