Beginning of Pleon Information
June 7, 2012

Dear Pleon Sailors and Parents,

As we near the start of Pleon there are a couple dates you should be aware of;

June 20th at 7pm we will be having our annual Parent Information Night. There you can sign up for Opti/Laser blade lockers as well as regular lockers, they are $15 for the year and $7.50 for a session.

* Parent Handbooks will NOT be handed out. I will be sending out an email with the handbook attached later this month. It will also be posted on our website, www.pleon.org

***There will be a REGATTA MEETING in the clubhouse directly after parents meet with their child's coaches. We strongly encourage all parents especially first year Opti Green Fleet parents to attend this meeting.

Friday June 22nd at 3:00pm. PLEON STARTS!! Your son/daughter's classes will meet at the times below;

3:00pm -4:30pm: Beginner, Middies, and Intermediate Opti classes, Opti 1, Adventure 1, and 420 1

5:00pm-7:00pm: Laser Race Team, 420 Race Team, Opti Race Team, and Opti 2 Adventure 2, along with 420 2

4:30: Cookout

Swim test and class meet and greets will be happening this afternoon. Please bring a towel, lifejacket, bathing suit, and other appropriate clothes based on the weather for that day.

* If your child is not able to make class that day, please contact me at info@pleon.org

 * Once the Opti rack is assembled on the dock people can start bringing their boats down for summer storage. Like last year, Opti Beginner, Middies, Intermediate and Opti 1 can store their boats on the dock. Opti 2 and Opti Race Team can store their boats in "Opti Alley"

We strongly encourage parents to register their sailors for the following beginning of the summer regattas;

Manchester Sailing Association Green Fleet Regatta - July 3rd (for Opti 1 sailors) - we're awaiting MSA to organize the registration.

Linda Wieditz - July 6th (for Opti 1 sailors) - stay tuned for registration information later in the month

New Bedford - July 7th (for 420 and lasers) http://www.nbyc.com/racing/nbjr/

Looking forward to another great summer,

Commodore
