Dear Pleon Members and Families,
Hello! We hope that you have enjoyed your time at Pleon so far this summer, and would like to inform you of a couple of upcoming events and ideas pertaining to the new clubhouse. Today an architecture came in to talk to all the Pleon sailors about what the new clubhouse will look like. We are all very excited to see and know that this is still going to be our place just more improved!
As some of you may know, the demolition of the present clubhouse is just around the corner and the fundraising process is vital at this time. Our hope is to get all of the kids involved in the process, so we have come up with a few fun ideas for everyone to participate in...;
So far we have split Pleon members into five different groups:
1. Opti morning classes
2. Opti afternoon classes
3. Adventure sailors
4. 420s sailors
5. Laser sailors
We also assigned each group a different fundraising task.
1. The Opti morning classes will help sell candy during the first movie night on July 7th.
2. The Opti afternoon classes will help sell candy during the second movie night on July 28th.
3. The Adventure sailors are responsible for an ice cream social- TBA
4. The 420 sailors will run a boat wash on July 19th after Eastern Sonar races.
5. The Laser sailors will be involved with a 50/50 raffle starting in the next week.(More infromation to come!)
With these five groups we are also going to be having a competitive coin drive starting today! Each group will have a bucket located at Pleon and sailors are to bring in coins for their designated bucket. The coin drive will continue until the Awards Banquet on August 21st. The group who raised the most money will be recongnized and awarded a prize at the Banquet. Start collecting all that change around the house!
As if this isn't enough...; there's more fun to come! On August 5th Pleon will be hosting a pool party after Olympic Day at the Eastern pool. More information will come as the date nears, so make sure to keep looking at Pleon's announcement board!
